Michael Granne focuses his practice on cross-border and general commercial litigation, international arbitration and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) advice and investigations. He has represented foreign sovereigns and multinationals in a variety of disputes in U.S. courts, ranging from securities claims to breach of contract to enforcement of judicial and arbitral judgments. He has represented companies of all sizes in diverse commercial litigation and arbitration contexts, including pre-suit investigation, discovery, motion practice, trial, post-trial motions and appeal. Fluent in Italian and Portuguese, he has a particular focus on Brazilian and Italian clients.
Prior to founding Provenzano, Granne & Bader, Michael was counsel at Zuber, Lawler & Del Duca and practiced in the litigation departments of Wilmer Hale and Cleary Gottlieb. Michael also spent five years as an academic, teaching such classes as Civil Procedure, International Litigation and Arbitration, Administrative Law and other courses.
He clerked for the Honorable Walter K. Stapleton on the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and is proficient in Cape Verdean Crioulo and Spanish in addition to his fluency in Italian and Portuguese.
